Teresa- 30 year old teacher and wife. I love to cook, bake, and teach! I have been teaching for 8 years. In the last 8 years, I have taught mostly in title one schools. The 2014-15 school year was my first year in a non-title one school. Starting at a new school has been like becoming a new teacher all over again! But here's to getting the hang of it and enjoying the ride!
Trameika- 31 year old teacher, wife and mother of 2! I love to read and learn new things! I have been teaching for 9 years.
We'd like to think of ourselves as creative innovative
teachers who want to be on the cutting-edge of education. We read and constantly research best
practices, reform movements, and educational trends. Teresa is the crafty one. She
can make virtually anything. She LIVES
on Pinterest. Trameika is the resourceful one. She will find a book or online
resource for just about everything, if she can’t find it, it DOESN’T exist! We are both second grade teachers and are both dedicated blog readers. We love what we see and are
frequently inspired. However, as we
continue to read and find new blogs, we feel African-American teachers are underrepresented
in the blogging community. We hope to know the world know that African America teachers blog too! We laugh, we cry, we craft, and most of all we teach, teach, TEACH! We are packed
up, gassed up, and ready to begin our blogging journey. While our
teaching backgrounds are diverse, we hope to engage, inspire, and motivate
others to be dynamic teachers.
